Hey there! I'm Kristina Zlatanov ☺
I am a designer, art director, illustrator, and occasional photographer based in Los Angeles County & Ventura County, CA.
When it comes to both my professional and personal work, I enjoy creating in a variety of avenues. From photography & design to illustration & hand-lettering and from paper to computer, I have come to realize that I have an advantage in the design world. That is, I am able to sketch out a drawing or logo and easily digitize it so it is ready to go for professional use. I can letter out a few words and turn it into an entire logo system, with fonts, colors, usage, and all kinds of design best practices. That way you can safely upload an optimized PNG or SVG onto your website instead of a random screenshot titled "Screenshot 2023-05-22 at 3.05.37 PM.png", amiright?
In my professional career, I have worked under digital marketing agencies for the last 5+ years. Most recently, I worked as a Senior Lead Designer at MuteSix. My role included design, ideation, and team + client management for paid social, email marketing, landing page creation, quick-paced campaign and promo launches. I worked with leading E-Commerce brands like Pacsun, Parks Project, Dave Banking, Big Fig Mattresses, Sunwink, BURST Oralcare, Blender Bombs, MAKE Beauty, Tossware, Bala Bangles, and several more. I was in charge of leading my own pod of designers, design creation, and presentations to both campaign managers + clients. I created both static and animated banners for not only Meta & Google, but TikTok, Snapchat, Amazon, and Pinterest.
Outside of my agency experience, I have a focus in brand identity, layout design, digital & analog illustration, hand-lettering, sign painting, apparel design, photography, and packaging. I know, I am little *teensy* bit obsessed with creating... But hey, at least it's for a good cause.
I run any and all my work through The Small Ego, which I started in 2019. I had a few set backs due to the pandemic (*gasp*), but thankfully, I was able to get back to running it full-time again as of January 2023.
